Fortuna Scarf Update

Skill Level:
Intermediate

Materials Used:
Red Heart With Love #4 Yarn in Grape Jam
Hook size J (6.5mm)

Pattern:
Fortuna Scarf

Changes to Pattern:
I'm not going to make this scarf nearly as long as the pattern calls for, which is about 11 feet.  Fortunately, it's very easy to make the scarf as long or as short as you want:  the only thing you need to worry about is ending on a scalloped row.

Alternative Pattern Changes:
If you want a scalloped edge on both ends of your scarf, you can simply crochet half of your scarf and then start over from the original foundation chain and crochet the other half.  (Thanks to Miho who reviewed this pattern at Lion Brand).  Your shell stitches will also go in different directions on each side if you do this.

Notes:
I haven't finished the scarf yet.  I'm going to add a few more feet to it before it's long enough to fold in half and pull through.  The pattern is very easy and the scarf grows quickly:  each row of arches adds a couple of inches to your scarf.
